This 5'6" twin-fin fish surfboard was inspired by none other than the brainchild of the original twin-fin fish boards: Steve Lis. I had the opportunity of meeting Steve in 2002 while working for Bill Hamilton on Kauai. I not only had the pleasure of meeting him and talking story, but I was honored to have gotten to laminate, fin, and finish two of his twin fishes.

This board is built from four different types of upcycled wood:

balsa, cedar, poplar, and paulownia.

I made the keels from cedar and gave them a 60/40 foil.

I made the nose and tail blocks with all the cut-offs from the rest of the build.

I painted the rails black to bring-out and show-off the abstract panels.

Dimensions: 5'6" x 21.5" x 2.5".
